The actress has remained silent on recent financial allegations. National Business Daily reported in early August that she is banned from trading shares in three companies: Long Vy Culture Media, Ha Bao Entertainment, and Dong Nhuan Phat Investment. Assets worth 15.9 million CNY (approximately 58 billion VND) at these companies are reportedly frozen. Zhao Wei is currently connected to 16 companies, 10 of which remain active.

Zhao Wei's entertainment career has been on hold since 2021. Her last public appearance was at a Fendi fashion event in July 2021, a brand she once represented. The following month, all films starring her were removed from video platforms, and her name was erased from film award portals. Brands she endorsed also hid or deleted related Weibo posts. These actions led fans to believe she was "blacklisted," although officials have not disclosed the reason for any penalties.

Late last year, the actress stated her marriage to Huang Youlong ended years prior, distancing herself from issues surrounding her ex-husband. According to On, Huang Youlong faces debts totaling 1.1 billion HKD (141 million USD), with creditors seeking 700 million HKD (over 90 million USD).
On also reports that Zhao Wei has explored Buddhism in recent years. In May, she posted a photo on social media alongside a quote from Tibetan Buddhist teacher Chogyam Trungpa: "Bravery is not pretending you’re not afraid but being willing to feel your vulnerability." She shared how the book helped her confront her fears, embrace her vulnerabilities, and overcome anxieties.
Zhao Wei was once one of the "Four Dan Actresses" of Chinese cinema. Xinhua recognized her as one of the few Chinese artists to achieve success in film, television, and music. She rose to fame across Asia with roles in series like My Fair Princess, Romance in the Rain, Painted Skin, Shaolin Soccer, and The Twins Effect II.
