Doctors at Thong Nhat General Hospital performed emergency surgery to reattach the severed finger of a 25-year-old man. He was admitted with the detached digit. The surgical team carried out debridement and microsurgical reattachment of the artery, vein, nerve, and tendon. Bone fixation was also performed using micro-sutures, which are finer than a strand of hair, with an additional artery graft due to extensive damage.
On 13/2, a hospital representative reported that two days after surgery, the patient's finger showed good blood flow and a healthy pink color.
On the same day, doctors successfully reattached a severed finger for a 56-year-old man. He was admitted to the emergency room after a work accident caused the injury to his left hand.
A hospital representative stated, "Both patients were fortunate to be near the hospital when their accidents occurred, allowing for rapid emergency transfer and early reattachment. This significantly increases their chances of recovery."
