As outlined in the decision, the project encompasses 119 types of equipment, with a total capital of nearly VND 330 billion. Over VND 305 billion is specifically earmarked for medical equipment procurement. The funding will be sourced from the provincial budget as part of the 2026-2030 mid-term public investment plan.
This investment aims to supplement and replace existing equipment, thereby enhancing medical examination and treatment capacity and improving the quality of healthcare services across the province.
In addition to this initiative, another procurement project involving 93 types of equipment and 250 devices for 6 hospitals, with a total investment of VND 171 billion, has received approval for its investment policy and is currently undergoing feasibility study reporting. The combined scope of both projects includes 1,318 devices, with a total investment of approximately VND 500 billion.
According to the Department of Health, the estimated capital requirement for medical equipment during the 2026-2030 period is VND 3,269 billion. Currently, only about VND 680,4 billion has been secured, leaving over VND 2,588 billion unfunded.
By the end of September, Gia Lai province had 11,271 hospital beds, achieving a ratio of 35,1 beds per 10,000 residents, which surpasses the 2026 target. The province aims to reach 36,4 beds per 10,000 residents by 2030.
Alongside these efforts, Gia Lai is also undertaking several healthcare infrastructure investment projects. In 2025, the province completed 10 projects with a total investment exceeding VND 509 billion. In 2026, 9 projects worth over VND 396 billion were completed and handed over, while 14 projects are ongoing.
Furthermore, 7 projects with a total investment exceeding VND 625 billion have received approval for their investment policy, and 31 projects, representing over VND 2,923 billion in total investment, have submitted their investment policies for approval.
