At the inauguration ceremony on 26/2, Associate Professor, Doctor Le Dinh Thanh, the hospital director, announced that the center's initial phase will focus on treating musculoskeletal conditions. This includes addressing prevalent issues like osteoarthritis and chronic joint pain, which significantly impact daily life. Regenerative techniques, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, are implemented following strict protocols to ensure safety and effectiveness.
The center will also develop medical dermatology and aesthetics, offering techniques for skin rejuvenation, scar treatment, and hair loss solutions. Additionally, it will advance maxillofacial surgery, cosmetic reconstructive surgery, and provide consultation for stem cell products from Japan. Doctors will also support the recovery from neurological, cardiovascular, and metabolic disorders.
Associate Professor, Doctor Vo Thanh Toan, the hospital's deputy director, will lead the center, supported by a team of experts in musculoskeletal, dermatology, and cosmetic surgery. Each patient will receive an examination and a personalized treatment plan.
According to the center's leadership, this initiative marks a step toward a comprehensive geriatric model for the hospital, given the rapidly aging population. Instead of treating only advanced conditions, the center embraces an integrated, multidisciplinary approach, emphasizing prevention and early intervention to help patients achieve "successful aging"—living healthy and proactively.

Alongside treatment, the center has invested in a laboratory for culturing and preserving stem cells and biological products. In the future, medicine may utilize selective stem cells tailored to specific organs or exosomes to enhance efficacy and minimize side effects. The center collaborates with the Institute of Stem Cells (Ho Chi Minh City University of Science) and other reputable domestic institutions, while also receiving professional support from Juntendo University Hospital (Japan) and Doctor Yasushi Matsushita.
On the same day, the hospital also inaugurated an internal medicine aesthetics unit within its Dermatology - Allergy Immunology Department. The unit offers a range of services, including: treating acne, melasma, freckles, and pigmentation disorders; addressing pitted, hypertrophic, and contracture scars; assisting with wrinkle reduction, improving sagging and loose skin; brightening and smoothing skin, minimizing pores; and performing non-surgical facial contouring, nose lifts, and chin reshaping.
Thong Nhat Hospital, operating under the Ministry of Health, is a leading geriatric cardiology center in the South. It treats approximately 1,200 inpatients daily, with 70% being elderly individuals. The hospital is currently aiming to become a special-grade comprehensive geriatric hospital.
