"Integrating postpartum maternal care services directly within the hospital helps mothers limit movement when their bodies are still weak, allowing more time to rest, relax, and recover alongside medical care for both mother and baby," a hospital representative said.

Responding to the demand for mother and baby care after birth, American International Hospital (AIH) developed postpartum confinement services, extending hospital stays for mothers to rest, recover, and familiarize themselves with infant care. The confinement package is designed for 3, 5, or 7 days, depending on the mother's and baby's needs and health status. During this time, the mother's postpartum health is monitored; the baby receives care from nurses, who also provide essential knowledge for the early days of life.
