Korean doctor discusses causes of "stiff face" after cosmetic procedures

Some cases of "stiff face" after cosmetic procedures result from using substances of unknown origin and inappropriate techniques, according to Korean doctor Suk Jeong Hoon.

Doctor Suk Jeong Hoon, a specialist with 22 years of experience in aesthetic medicine in Korea, was a guest speaker at the beauty trend workshop 2026 hosted by Lavish Clinic - By Huyen Baby. The workshop focused on facial rejuvenation and contouring. Doctor Suk noted a growing emphasis among women on safety and naturalness, following cases of complications or unsatisfactory results.

Doctor Suk addressed numerous questions and concerns regarding filler and botox injections causing a "stiff face". He explained that fillers and botox are not inherently bad and do not cause a loss of expression if used correctly; the core factor lies in the execution technique, not the product itself.

"Product quality, execution technique, and suitability to facial structure can affect aesthetic results. In reality, a stiff appearance often stems from excessive inhibition of expressive muscles or injecting fillers into the superficial layer above the muscles, causing the face to lose its natural flexibility," doctor Suk Jeong Hoon stated.

To mitigate this issue, doctor Suk Jeong Hoon frequently employs neuromodulation techniques. These techniques help smooth both the skin surface and the superficial muscle layer, while preserving natural facial muscle movements. Subsequently, he prioritizes injecting fillers into the deeper layer beneath the muscles to avoid affecting muscle function.

Drawing from the Korean specialist's insights, businesswoman Huyen Baby, founder of Lavish Clinic, hopes the workshop can answer women's questions. She also aims to influence their beauty decisions, encouraging them to prioritize licensed aesthetic facilities, skilled doctors, and suitable methods to ensure lasting results.

During the workshop, guests learned about the new Baby Face solution and the "Minimize Point - Maximize Shape" technique. This approach champions the philosophy of "not changing the face but selectively refining it to restore inherent fullness and harmony". Instead of widespread intervention, this method focuses on strategic points, enhancing rejuvenation effectiveness while preserving each individual's unique features.

Women no longer need to travel to Korea or other countries for these balancing treatments. Through direct training and technique transfer from the Korean expert, local doctors can now access and apply a range of new, highly precise methods, optimizing costs and ensuring professional expertise.

"In this context, the doctor's role extends beyond intervention; they become a ‘selective refiner’ based on each face's structure and proportions. The ultimate result should both refine contours and help women achieve a more harmonious, natural version of themselves," doctor Suk Jeong Hoon added.
