On the morning of 1/5, 46 individuals, primarily students aged 11 to 15, were receiving treatment at Huong Hoa Regional General Hospital for suspected food poisoning. The patients, ranging from a 50-month-old child to a 46-year-old adult, began arriving at the hospital from 29/4 to 1/5 with similar symptoms.
Prior to developing these symptoms, all affected individuals reported eating bread purchased from a bakery located in Tan Son hamlet, Tan Lap commune. This common link points to the bakery as the potential source of the contamination.
At the hospital, patients received intravenous fluids, oral rehydration, and antibiotics. Their health is gradually stabilizing, and no severe cases have been reported.

The Tan Lap commune People's Committee confirmed it has reviewed all cases involving individuals who consumed bread from the Tan Son bakery. All symptomatic individuals, regardless of symptom severity, were directed to the hospital for examination and treatment.
Authorities are collecting food and patient samples to investigate and determine the exact cause of the suspected poisoning. Across the country, food poisoning incidents linked to bread consumption occur frequently. These cases are often attributed to cross-contamination from ingredients like pate, vegetables, or meat infected with Salmonella bacteria.
