On the morning of 15/4, five employees of Quy Nhon Forestry Company Limited were conducting a planned forest inspection. As the group reached Section 7, Sub-area 352, in Long Thanh neighborhood, Quy Nhon Tay ward, they were suddenly attacked by a swarm of insects.

It is currently unclear what type of insect was involved or the exact circumstances of the attack.

Ho Thanh Vu, 40, died at the scene. Nguyen Van Tam, 40, Pham Ba Hieu, 50, and Nguyen Quang Hieu, 46, sustained injuries. Rescue forces extracted them from the forest nearly two hours after the incident, and they were then taken for emergency treatment at Gia Lai Central General Hospital.

Le Phuoc Duc, 43, is currently receiving emergency treatment at Quy Nhon Medical Center.
