Intimate health is crucial for women's physical and mental well-being. However, the incidence of intimate infections among women of reproductive age remains high due to complacency and unscientific hygiene habits. According to Ministry of Health statistics, by 2023, up to 90% of Vietnamese women of reproductive age had experienced gynecological conditions at least once.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists states that the intimate area has a thin mucous membrane and a rich microbiome, which relies on a mildly acidic pH balance for self-protection. This balance is often disrupted by common mistakes, such as using harsh soaps or shower gels, or conversely, only cleaning superficially with water, which fails to prevent bacterial and fungal infections. To minimize the risk of illness, health experts emphasize that combining correct hygiene techniques with appropriate supporting products is crucial.

Regarding the cleaning procedure, the most important principle women must follow is to clean from front to back. Expert Natalia Grzywińska from the Ziaja brand explains that due to the close proximity of the vagina and anus, cleaning in the reverse direction can inadvertently introduce bacteria from the anus into the vagina, causing ascending infections. Additionally, women should only gently clean the external vulva with clean warm or cool water, and never douche deep inside without a doctor's recommendation to avoid damaging the mucous membrane. Particularly during sensitive times like menstruation or before and after sexual intercourse, thorough hygiene is necessary to prevent bacterial growth.
Alongside correct technique, selecting an appropriate intimate wash is considered a second layer of protection for the intimate area. Expert Katarzyna Tyborowska from the Ziaja brand notes that unlike other skin areas on the body, a healthy vaginal environment has a pH ranging from 3,8 to 4,5. A standard-safe cleansing product must have a pH between 4,0 and 5,5; washes within this pH range can restore the appropriate acidity for sensitive organs, helping to protect the natural bacterial flora. However, it is also important that the product properly moisturizes and nourishes the skin.
"Users should prioritize products containing gentle cleansing ingredients that soothe irritation, have antibacterial effects, and provide a fresh feeling. The active ingredients in the product must also enhance the natural bacterial flora by maintaining a stable pH similar to the vagina's natural pH," the expert from Ziaja analyzed.
She added that women should choose products with natural extracts such as dandelion, chamomile, marigold, aloe vera, or oak bark. Moisturizing and restorative active ingredients like lactic acid and provitamin B5 are also highly valued for supporting intimate protection.

Meeting these strict medical standards, the Ziaja dermocosmetic brand from Poland is trusted by many women for its gentle nature and specialized classifications for various needs. The brand's products are developed based on appropriate pH levels, are soap-free, and undergo clinical testing at reputable dermatological institutes. Depending on their body condition, users can choose the Ziaja Intimate Creamy Wash line, which features a specific pH level from 3,0 to 4,5 and a creamy texture rich in lactic acid, plus hyaluronic acid or lactobionic acid, specifically designed to support users with infections.
For antibacterial needs and enhanced protection, Ziaja's herbal extract product line offers noticeable results. Specifically, oak bark extract, with its natural astringent properties, is optimal for menstruation or minor mucous membrane lesions. Meanwhile, chamomile extract quickly soothes sensitive skin prone to redness, and lily of the valley extract provides a fresh feeling and effective odor neutralization for daily hygiene needs.
"Listening to your body and choosing the right care products not only helps prevent illness but is also key to empowering women with confidence and improving their quality of life," Natalia Grzywińska stated.
