Dr. Nguyen Tra Thao Nhi, Master of Science, from the High-Tech Eye Center at Tam Anh General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, stated that Vinh's eyes met the requirements for SMILE Pro vision correction. His vision was stable, with no change in myopia degree for at least 6-12 months. He had less than 10 diopters of myopia and corneal thickness over 500 micrometers. Vinh was healthy and free from other eye conditions such as keratoconus, cataracts, conjunctivitis, or glaucoma.

According to Dr. Nhi, SMILE Pro is an advanced method for treating myopia. It uses a femtosecond laser to reshape the cornea without creating a flap, unlike traditional LASIK. SMILE Pro corrects myopia in about 15 minutes for both eyes, allowing for rapid recovery, reducing the risk of dry eyes, and preserving the cornea's biological strength.
After the surgery, Vinh was discharged on the afternoon of the same day. Two days later, a follow-up examination showed his vision in both eyes reached 8/10, with no redness or tearing.
Dr. Nhi explained that Vinh's vision would not fully recover immediately but would gradually improve over several days to weeks. He needs to wear protective glasses for the first week after surgery, rest, maintain a balanced lifestyle, and limit prolonged use of computers or phones. He should especially avoid intense sports for one month until his eyes stabilize.
The doctor advised Vinh to have a follow-up eye examination one to three months after vision correction upon his return to Singapore.
