Spa and massage establishment illegally provides medical treatment

Authorities in Tay Hoa commune discovered a business licensed for spa and massage services that was also illegally providing medical treatment using "dien chan" methods.

On 20/3, leaders of the Tay Hoa Commune People's Committee reported that the 43-year-old wife of the establishment's owner directly provided medical examinations and treatment to residents, despite being registered to receive social assistance for individuals with severe neuro-psychiatric disabilities.

Furthermore, she received a certificate of completion for a professional facial and body care technician training course in 6/2024 from a skincare company in Can Tho City.

Earlier, Tay Hoa commune leaders received complaints that the business was providing medical treatment despite only being licensed for spa, massage, and similar wellness services. The establishment also made false claims online, asserting its ability to treat various complex medical conditions.

According to the Tay Hoa Commune Party Committee, the verification process revealed that the business was first registered on 13/10/2025. Local authorities inspected the premises and issued a commitment record to suspend operations on 10/3, but the business continued its violations.

Authorities stated that the incident "caused public outrage, posed significant risks to people's lives and health, and negatively impacted local security." The Tay Hoa Commune Party Committee requested specialized agencies to inspect and address the business's activities.
