On 21/8, Long An General Hospital reported that the patient was transferred from Ben Luc Regional Medical Center with severe abdominal pain. CT scans revealed fluid in his abdominal cavity, a severely dilated colon, acute peritonitis, and appendicitis.
Doctors explained that the air pressure from the hose, directed into the boy's anal area, caused his colon to over-dilate. This resulted in multiple tears in the serosal layer, leading to hemorrhage and acute peritonitis. The air also pushed stool into the appendix, causing obstruction and secondary inflammation.
The patient underwent exploratory laparoscopic surgery, appendectomy, treatment of the injuries, and drainage of inflammatory fluid from his abdominal cavity.

Doctors warn that high-pressure pneumatic hoses or industrial air spray guns, when misused, can cause severe, life-threatening injuries. In incidents involving compressed air, individuals experiencing severe pain, abdominal pain or distension, difficulty breathing, dizziness, confusion, or unconsciousness should seek immediate medical attention.
