The breakfast of the actress who successfully lost 28 kg in 40 days

Actress Jin Seo-yeon, who garnered significant attention for successfully losing 28 kg in just 40 days, reveals her overnight oatmeal recipe for maintaining a slender physique.

Actress Jin Seo-yeon, 43, shared her breakfast recipe on Instagram on 7/4, according to Health Chosun. The photo was captioned: "This is the breakfast I eat daily - Onao (overnight oatmeal)".

Jin stated that she typically mixes oatmeal with Greek yogurt, fresh milk or soy milk, adds chia seeds and frozen blueberries, then refrigerates it for about two hours before enjoying. Oatmeal is a nutrient-rich food, once recognized by The New York Times as one of the "10 healthiest foods in the world". This grain contains protein, essential amino acids, and abundant trace minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium. Its high fiber content promotes satiety even with small portions.

Adding seeds like chia to the diet, as Jin Seo-yeon does, offers a dual benefit for blood sugar regulation. The fiber in chia seeds slows sugar absorption into the bloodstream. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), 100 grams of chia seeds contain 34 grams of fiber.

Blueberries also provide powerful antioxidants like anthocyanins, polyphenols, and beta-carotene, helping the body combat chronic diseases linked to free radicals, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, and dyslipidemia.

However, health experts caution against overconsumption of this dish. Because fiber in oatmeal is not digested in the stomach but fermented by bacteria in the colon, this process can produce gas, leading to bloating and abdominal distension. A study in the World Journal of Gastroenterology also indicated that excessive fiber intake can result in bowel dysfunction. Therefore, for optimal health benefits, individuals should limit this diet to one or two meals per day.

Born in 1983, Jin Seo-yeon entered the film industry in 2007 with the movie Eve's Temptation - Good Wife and became known for supporting roles. She made her mark in Romantic Island and especially in Believer, a work that earned her numerous awards. The actress is married and has one child. Her postpartum weight loss journey to regain her physique has made Jin Seo-yeon an inspiration within South Korea's beauty community.
