On 15/5, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of Children's Hospital 1, stated that medical staff had largely controlled the child's physical injuries. The boy is now in stable health and his spirits have improved.
At the new social facility, staff will ensure a safe living environment, provide nutrition, monitor his health regularly, and offer psychological support to help the boy avoid further harm. Placing him in the center also allows authorities to continue processing the case according to legal regulations, the doctor added.
Earlier, upon admission on 3/5, the boy suffered injuries to multiple internal organs, including his liver, spleen, pancreas, and kidneys. He also had torn lungs, an old fracture in his arm, and numerous abrasions on his body. The hospital activated its "one-door model"—a program supporting children who are abused, harmed, or abandoned—to coordinate treatment, psychological support, and connect with authorities to protect the child's rights.

During his treatment, authorities also directly presented the boy with his birth certificate at the hospital. Upon admission, the child lacked identification documents, despite his mother having named him and only possessing a birth certificate issued by the hospital after birth. Many organizations, individuals, and philanthropists also visited, offered encouragement, and supported the child through his difficult period.
The boy is a victim of abuse inflicted by his biological mother and her partner. His mother is pregnant and not legally married. The boy has three siblings: one has been adopted, while the other two live with their paternal grandmother and aunt. When authorities contacted the maternal grandmother and aunt to request guardianship, they refused to care for him. Children's Hospital 1 covered all medical expenses, and medical staff took turns caring for and encouraging the boy throughout his treatment.
