On the evening of 21/2, as the woman drove past Moc Hoa bridge to the agreed meeting point, Tuong's group intercepted her vehicle. Tuong, using a knife, forced her into a 4-seater car, confiscated her phone, handbag, and identification documents, then drove to Tan Tru commune.
During the journey, the woman struggled multiple times to escape, but Tuong threatened her with the knife.
Upon arrival at a guesthouse in Tan Tru commune, Tay Ninh province, the suspects repeatedly beat her with brooms and water pipes. They coerced the victim into transferring 157 million VND to Tuong's account. By the morning of 22/2, Tuong and his accomplices transported the woman in a 7-seater car back to Binh Hiep commune, Tay Ninh province, intending to sell her to Cambodia.
When the group stopped at a rice restaurant on National Route 62 in Thanh Hoa commune, Tay Ninh, the woman suddenly opened the car door and fled. She then reported the incident to Binh Hiep commune police. The victim was later hospitalized for multiple injuries.
