Immediately following the launch of the Quang Trung Campaign in early December, police forces in the nine provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong mobilized 11,000 officers and soldiers. Their efforts focused on supporting residents in overcoming the aftermath of natural disasters, repairing homes, hospitals, and schools, conducting environmental sanitation, and rebuilding livelihoods.
The Quang Trung Campaign, initiated by the Prime Minister, adopted a "rapid" approach to recovery. It set ambitious targets: completing all house repairs by 31/12 and constructing new homes for residents by 31/1/2026.
This year, Vietnam experienced over 20 storms and tropical depressions, matching the record set in 2017. As of November, natural disasters nationwide caused 415 deaths or disappearances, and injured 728 people. More than 3,900 homes collapsed, while over 330,000 houses were damaged or unroofed. Hundreds of thousands of hectares of rice, crops, and other plants were also destroyed. Total damages exceeded VND 91 trillion.

Beyond repairs, the police were also tasked with leading the construction of 429 new homes, with the largest number, 200, designated for Dak Lak. By 25/12, officers had completed 19 houses, exceeding the scheduled progress by 200%. Many projects in Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Ha Tinh have reached 70-80% completion. The police sector is striving to hand over some projects 10-15 days ahead of schedule in certain areas.
The Ministry of Public Security held a meeting on 26/12 to review the 2025 storm and flood response efforts. The ministry acknowledged that local police forces demonstrated proactive, flexible, and timely advisory and situational handling. Concurrently, police deployed comprehensive measures to ensure security and order, mobilizing maximum personnel and resources for rescue operations and disaster recovery.
