On 25/1, Hen, originally from Can Tho, was arrested by Ca Mau Provincial Police in the Phu Quoc Special Administrative Region, An Giang, where he was hiding. He has since been extradited to the mainland for investigation into murder charges.

Initial investigations revealed that Hen had been living with a 64-year-old woman for about six months. The couple frequently experienced conflicts, arguments, and jealousy.

Around 8h on 24/1, Hen called his lover's son, who lives in Ho Chi Minh City, informing him that he had killed the son's mother and sister. He asked the son to return to arrange the funerals. The son immediately reported the incident to Phuoc Long Commune Police.

Authorities arriving at the scene found the two victims' bodies inside the house.

According to the Phuoc Long Commune People's Committee, the 64-year-old mother had three children. The 46-year-old victim had recently returned to live with her mother for about two weeks. The other two children were working away from home.

The suspect's motive and method of the crime have not been disclosed.
