Employee attacks delivery driver over parking dispute

Tran Quoc Dat, a 36-year-old employee at a snail restaurant, has been detained after reportedly assaulting a delivery driver with a plastic chair during an argument over parking on the sidewalk.

On 14/3, Dat was criminally detained by Ho Chi Minh City Police for investigation into disturbing public order.

Initial investigations reveal that around midnight on 12/3, Phuc, a delivery driver, arrived at a snail restaurant on Le Hong Phong street in Hoa Hung ward (formerly District 10) to pick up a customer's order. While waiting for the order, he parked his vehicle on the sidewalk in front of the establishment, leading to an argument with Dat, an employee at the restaurant.

Following the verbal altercation regarding the parking, Dat reportedly used a plastic chair to attack Phuc, causing injuries to his hand. The delivery driver subsequently reported the incident to the police and sought medical attention at a hospital.

Ho Chi Minh City Police urged residents to maintain composure and behave civilly when conflicts arise in daily life or business. They emphasized that any act involving violence, harming others' health, or disturbing public order will be thoroughly prosecuted.
