Pham Gia Le, 73, allegedly stabbed his wife and brother-in-law with a sword in Van Xuan commune, Hung Yen province, on 28/6. The attack, reportedly stemming from a family dispute, resulted in the death of his brother-in-law and serious injuries to his wife.
Initial reports indicate that around 12h on 28/6, a family dispute led Le to repeatedly stab his wife, Nguyen Thi Bich, 58, and his brother-in-law, Nguyen Quoc Thoan, 50. Both individuals reside in Van Xuan commune.

Thoan died at the scene. Residents and authorities urgently transported Bich, who suffered serious injuries, to Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital for emergency care.
By 14h45 on the same day, nearly three hours after the attack, Le surrendered to police authorities. As of 29/6, the Hung Yen Provincial Police are temporarily detaining him for investigation into murder.
