The Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department is investigating this murder case.
According to authorities, on the afternoon of 20/9, Trinh Van Cu and his wife, residents of Yen Dinh commune, left their 8-year-old daughter at her uncle's house while they went to work in the fields.
Later that night, when their daughter didn't return, the family began searching around Hoach Thon village and the surrounding area. After nearly 10 hours, they discovered the girl's body with multiple injuries to her head and neck.
Her body was hidden in a tied sack in a corner of the garden, not far from the house.
A teenage relative of the victim has been identified as a suspect, but authorities have not yet released their identity or a specific motive.
