On 28/8, Truong was arrested by An Giang Provincial Police for robbery.

Truong, short on cash, decided to commit robbery. At noon on 17/8, he rode his motorbike along National Highway N1, searching for a victim.

Upon reaching Vinh Dieu commune, Phu Tan district, Truong spotted 93-year-old Mr. Quan selling lottery tickets. He approached Mr. Quan and snatched his bag. The elderly man could only watch helplessly as the robber fled. He then reported the incident to the police. The bag contained a phone and over 700,000 VND from lottery ticket sales.

Four hours later, police apprehended Truong hiding in a neighboring commune.
