Around 1:30 PM on 18/6, police received a report of a 3-year-old boy being thrown into a crocodile enclosure in front of visitors at Johnsons of Old Hurst zoo in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
A local resident stated that the zoo owner's wife, Tracey Johnson, jumped into the crocodile enclosure, attempting to rescue the child before the animals could reach the boy.
The boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition with a broken arm and pelvis but is now stable. A 30-year-old man from Norfolk was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
According to initial information from Cambridgeshire Police, the suspect did not know the child. Authorities stated that a criminal investigation is underway.

Johnsons of Old Hurst is described as a family farm business, comprising a butcher shop, farm shop, tea room, steak restaurant, and zoo.
The owner stated that initially the crocodiles were kept to dispose of excess meat from the abattoir, but they later became the impetus for building a zoo. The facility now houses over 100 animal species, including lions, tigers, sun bears, capybaras, meerkats, and crocodiles.
The crocodiles are housed in a greenhouse converted from livestock sheds, with elevated metal-fenced walkways overlooking a pond surrounded by tropical vegetation.
Following the incident, Johnsons of Old Hurst announced that the Tropical House greenhouse would be temporarily closed.
