Leaders of Ta Hine Commune People's Committee announced the arrest of suspect Pham Ngoc Thanh, 25.

According to initial reports, at 9 p.m. on 16/10, Tran Ho Quoc Dung, 25, was drinking with the pub owner and Pham Ngoc Thanh in Da An village. Around two hours later, Dung and Thanh began arguing. Thanh then cursed, retrieved a knife from his motorbike's trunk, chased Dung, and left the scene.

Dung called his 32-year-old brother, explaining that Thanh had chased him with a knife and asking for a ride home. On his way back, Dung saw his brother driving towards the pub. Unable to reach him by phone, Dung returned to the pub. There, Dung witnessed his brother, armed with a one-meter iron bar, charge at Thanh, who then retaliated with a homemade knife, stabbing him.

Dung threw a rock at Thanh but missed. His brother collapsed on the ground and was rushed to the emergency room, but he died.

At 3:40 a.m. on 17/10, Ta Hine Commune Police apprehended Thanh in Di Linh commune as he was attempting to flee.
