Burglar falls asleep at homeowner's house

A burglar dozed off mid-break-in and was found by police curled up in a child's bedroom.

A 24-year-old man was arrested after falling asleep during a burglary in a house in Newark, Nottinghamshire. Police found him curled up on a floor bed next to a crib in a child's bedroom.

Officers responded to a report of a break-in during the early hours of 1/4. Upon arrival, they discovered a smashed window and the sleeping suspect. After waking him and confirming he was not the homeowner, police arrested him on suspicion of unlawful entry.

Body camera footage from the arresting officers showed the suspect, dressed in a blue t-shirt and jeans with a gold chain, appearing dazed and sleepy as he was handcuffed.
