Chinese man, international fugitive, arrested in Da Nang

Zhang Yuan, 44, a Chinese national wanted internationally for organizing illegal gambling, was apprehended in Vietnam.

The Da Nang City Criminal Police Department, in collaboration with Son Tra Ward Police, arrested Zhang Yuan on 17/12. The 44-year-old Chinese national was taken into custody while staying at a hotel on Le Van Duyet street in Son Tra ward.

Zhang Yuan was an international fugitive, wanted by Changde City Police in China for organizing illegal gambling operations. Authorities had identified him at the hotel on 16/12 due to suspicious behavior observed during a local sweep. Verification confirmed his connection to illegal gambling activities in Changde City and that Changde City Police had issued an arrest warrant for him.

After gathering documents and evidence, the Criminal Police Department, with Son Tra Ward Police, proceeded with his arrest at the hotel. Da Nang City Police are now completing legal procedures and coordinating with domestic and international agencies to address the case according to regulations.
