Tay Ninh police detained 32-year-old Truc, from An Giang province, on September 24th for robbery.
Her 26-year-old accomplice, Dat, is currently being sought by authorities.

Investigations revealed that three days prior, Dat and Truc rented a room at a motel in Long An ward. Short on cash, the pair decided to steal to fund their expenses.
They targeted a woman with disabilities who was looking at her phone while sitting at her pork and vegetable stall. Dat approached the stall while Truc pretended to buy guava, creating a distraction. Truc then snatched the phone and Dat quickly drove away, leaving the distraught victim behind.
The stolen phone was pawned for 300,000 VND. Two days later, Dat suggested stealing from Long An General Hospital, but Truc refused.

Tragically, the woman was found deceased yesterday. Local authorities confirmed she had polio since childhood, experienced developmental delays, and lived with her 68-year-old mother. She had purchased the phone three years prior for 2.5 million VND.
Police have apprehended Truc, but Dat remains at large.
