On 29/6, the Vinh Phuc provincial police charged the driver and issued a travel ban while they investigate his alleged disruption of public order.

The driver, who identified himself as the owner of a construction company, said he had sold scrap metal to the two truck drivers but they drove off before the metal could be weighed. He reported the incident to the Son Vi Commune Police in Lam Thao District, Phu Tho Province, and pursued the trucks in his car.

Around 6:19 PM on 25/6, he spotted the two trucks near kilometer 25 of the Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway. He then drove ahead of them to force them to stop and return to resolve the issue. Traffic police observed his reckless driving and attempts to force the trucks off the road.

Monitoring system personnel alerted the team leader, who coordinated with traffic police at the toll station at kilometer 6 to stop the vehicles for inspection.
