Around 3:30 a.m. on 16/8, residents reported seeing two young men attacked by a group on motorbikes wielding weapons near a park on 2/9 street.

One of the victims, a 16-year-old from Gia Lai province, suffered severe injuries, including a ruptured right eyeball, resulting in permanent blindness. He also sustained multiple soft tissue injuries. Initial medical assessments estimated his disability rating at a minimum of 41%.

After a 12-hour investigation, police identified 10 individuals involved and arrested seven: Le Ngoc Anh Quoc, Do Huy Tin, Truong Ngoc Vinh, Ho Van Dai Vi, Pham Ngoc Hieu, and Dang Van Quang Thao.

The suspects claimed they mistook the two young men standing near the park on 2/9 street for members of a rival group that had previously challenged them.
