According to the indictment, Hoang Van Dat and Luu Thi Truc lived together and participated in a drug trafficking ring. Truc worked at a beer bar on Nguyen Sinh Cung Street, Vy Da Ward. Her role was to identify customers interested in purchasing drugs and inform Dat, who would then supply them. They would split the profits. Dat also asked Truc to source drugs from Ho Chi Minh City and bring them to Hue.
Having previously lived in Ho Chi Minh City, Truc knew Tran Duy Hai, 33, a drug dealer.
When Dat needed drugs, he would transfer money to Truc, who would then transfer it to Hai. Hai would conceal the drugs inside speakers and send them via courier.
The recipient information was falsely listed as "Ha" with Truc's phone number to avoid detection. On 22/3/2024, Dat asked Truc to buy 50g of ketamine and 100 MDMA pills for 71 million VND. After the transfer, Hai shipped the drugs as usual. However, on 25/3/2024, when the package arrived at the courier office at 306 Le Duan Street (Hue City), Lien noticed something suspicious about the package addressed to Truc's phone number. He informed his manager and reported it to the police.
Lien then told Thinh about the incident, and together they informed Truc about the drugs hidden within the speakers. Upon receiving the news, Truc fled to Ho Chi Minh City and turned herself in on 20/9/2024.
Police determined that Truc had ordered drugs from Tran Duy Hai four times, concealed within speakers. Truc and Dat also sold drugs in Hue City on multiple occasions.
