Da Nang City Police's Criminal Police Department coordinated with An Hai Ward Police to investigate. By 14/8, authorities identified eight individuals involved, including several company employees and security guards.
The group was led by employees Mai Quoc Cuong, Huynh Khanh Duy, Mai Dang Quoc, and Do Quang Sang. They conspired to exploit their shifts to disable cameras, open the warehouse, and use a forklift to swap containers. They then recruited Mai Duy Hung (warehouse staff), Le Xuan Vinh (security guard), and Tran Phan Huy Thong (driver) to participate.
The group collaborated with Nguyen Phuc The Hung, the owner of a candle production facility, to sell the stolen wax at 28,000 VND/kg (1.16 USD/kg), despite knowing it was stolen property. From November 2024 to July 2025, the suspects repeatedly stole approximately 18 tons of wax, profiting over 500 million VND (20,750 USD).
During the search, police seized two tons of wax from Nguyen Van Thong (who bought it from Hung) and 728 kg at Hung's production facility.
In this case, Hung was prosecuted for receiving stolen property.
