On 23/7, Tri and Tran Phu Long, 36, were detained by Ho Chi Minh City police in connection with drug use.
The arrests followed a raid on 12/6 at a house on Lac Long Quan Street (now in Tan Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh City). Police caught Trung, 34, in possession of and selling cannabis and cocaine. He confessed to operating through the Telegram/Signal social media platforms and using multiple intermediary bank accounts.
Further investigations revealed several individuals involved in drug deliveries. This led police to uncover an online drug trafficking network.
On the evening of 23/6, while expanding the investigation, police discovered Tri and Long using drugs at Tri’s residence in Tan Hung ward, Ho Chi Minh City. Items including ceramic plates, rolled-up banknotes, and plastic cards were seized.
