On 17/8, the Da Nang City Police Criminal Investigation Department announced it is temporarily detaining Enola Lugai to investigate property theft.

According to the investigation, in the early morning on 8/8, Lugai walked from An Bang beach to an adjacent villa area at a five-star resort in Dien Ban Dong ward, attempting to open doors of several villas with the intent to steal. Discovering villa V67 unlocked with two handbags on the living room table, she snuck in, stole them, and hid them away before taking a taxi to downtown Da Nang City to find a way to sell them.
According to the victim, Alkhalifah Khalifah Abdvlaziza, 48, the stolen items included one rolex watch, a Louis Vuitton shoulder bag, Bulgari sunglasses, and a Hapas handbag, totaling over 500 million dong.
Da Nang police criminal investigation forces, in coordination with local police, inspected the scene, extracted data, and reviewed dozens of foreign nationals with suspicious signs in the area. At 9:30 PM on 9/8, detectives located and arrested Enola Lugai while she was hiding at a hotel on Yen Bai street, Hai Chau ward. All stolen luxury items were recovered by the police.
At the investigative agency, Lugai confessed to entering Vietnam on 29/7 and staying in the An Bang beach area. Having no job and running out of money, the suspect conceived the idea of theft.
The Da Nang City Police Criminal Investigation Department is continuing to expand its investigation into the case.
