On 7/10, Minh Hoa Commune Police announced a local man was fined 12,5 million VND for providing and sharing false, untrue, distorting, slandering, or insulting information that affects the reputation of agencies, organizations, or the honor and dignity of individuals.
Earlier, police received a report from a woman claiming someone used an anonymous Facebook account to post her images with false content, which affected her honor, dignity, reputation, and private life.
Through verification, authorities identified the poster as a man from the same commune. Working with the police, he admitted to using an anonymous account to post inaccurate photos and content about the woman due to conflicts during online messaging.
Minh Hoa Commune Police stated that this act is penalized under Government Decree 174/2026/ND-CP, which addresses administrative violations in the fields of postal services, telecommunications, radio frequencies, electronic transactions, and information technology.
Police advise citizens not to misuse anonymous accounts to post false information, slander, or insult others. If their rights and interests are violated, people should preserve evidence and report it to the authorities.
