The individuals and their vehicle matched descriptions from a video that circulated on 4/10. The video showed youths brandishing iron scissors and provoking pedestrians on Phan Dang Luu street in Hoa Cuong ward. Recognizing the resemblance, police initiated an administrative check.
The two youths were identified as residents of An Khe ward and Hai Chau ward, respectively.
At the police station, both teenagers confessed to being the individuals in the widely shared social media video. They also admitted that the Wave Alpha motorbike they were using was stolen property from a theft on 3/10 in An Hai ward. The theft was carried out by the teenager residing in An Khe ward, along with a 16-year-old from Hoa Khanh ward.
When summoned by criminal police, the 16-year-old also confessed to participating in the motorbike theft with his friend.

On 6/10, the Da Nang City Police Criminal Investigation Department transferred the case files, evidence, and the two individuals involved in the theft to An Hai Ward Police for further action. The teenager who used scissors to provoke pedestrians was released into the custody of his family, as there were insufficient grounds for charges at that time.
