The Hanoi Civil Judgment Enforcement Agency announced on 26/7 that Le Duy Thanh had completed his civil judgment enforcement obligations in the case involving Phuc Son Group.
Following the completion of these obligations, the agency returned over 21,3 billion VND and 330,000 USD to Thanh, via his family. His family has not yet submitted a request for a certificate confirming the completion of these obligations.
According to the agency, Thanh's family paid 200,000 VND in first-instance criminal court fees. The enforcement agency also confiscated 20 billion VND and 1,3 million USD, as stipulated by the verdict.

Case files indicate Thanh was accused of receiving a 49,8 billion VND bribe. In 12/2025, the appeals court reduced his sentence from 12 years to 8 years and six months in prison.
In the same case, former Secretary of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee Hoang Thi Thuy Lan saw her sentence reduced by the appeals court from 14 years to 11 years and six months for accepting a 47,9 billion VND bribe from the Phuc Son Group chairman. Overall, Lan and Thanh received a total of over 97,7 billion VND in bribes.
At the first-instance trial, the court announced it had temporarily held 1,63 million USD and over 41 billion VND belonging to Thanh. This amount included money voluntarily submitted by his family and funds seized by investigators during a search of his private residence.
Thanh's voluntary payment of an additional 200 million VND at the appeals trial was recognized by the court as "voluntary". This money was deposited into the State Treasury's temporary holding account, representing an additional payment after an overpayment of restitution before the first-instance trial.
The case files also revealed that former leaders of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Quang Ngai provinces were manipulated by Phuc Son Group chairman Nguyen Van Hau through monetary means, fostering group interests. These officials committed crimes due to moral degradation and for personal gain.
During the implementation of 14 projects across Vinh Phuc, Quang Ngai, and Phu Tho, Phuc Son Group violated laws, engaged in particularly large-scale illicit profiteering, eroded public trust, and caused widespread public outrage. Many officials were bribed or gifted over 130 billion VND to facilitate illegal activities.
