Girl who 'bit, slapped police officer' arrested

Mac Thi Thuy Linh resisted when stopped for a traffic violation, biting, slapping, shoving, and physically assaulting a police officer, causing injury.

Linh, 30, residing in Hai Phong city, was taken into criminal custody by the Investigative Police Agency of Thai Nguyen Provincial Police on the afternoon of 19/6. She is being investigated for resisting public officers.

Linh has a prior conviction for pimping in 2016, for which she received a one-year prison sentence.

The incident began around 17h28 on 17/6 when Linh, a passenger on a motorbike driven by a young man, committed a traffic violation on Ly Nam De street in Pho Yen ward. A traffic police team from Pho Yen ward police requested both individuals to stop.

During the interaction, Linh verbally challenged the ward police officers and repeatedly shoved forcefully, causing one officer to fall to the ground.

Linh and the driver were subsequently taken to the former Pho Yen Forest Ranger Sub-department office for questioning.

Authorities allege Linh continued to resist, walking into the middle of the road and blocking a truck moving from Van Xuan towards National Highway 3, causing a traffic jam. Deeming this a dangerous situation, the task force restrained Linh, but she bit an officer on the bicep.

Upon arriving at the Forest Ranger Sub-department office, Linh continuously cursed, spat, and physically assaulted officers, causing injuries. According to a video posted on social media, Linh slapped a police officer's face and body more than two times, causing their cap to fall.

Given these acts of resistance, the police prepared a report to arrest Linh for an offense in flagrante delicto, handing her over to competent authorities for processing. Police stated that during the investigation, Linh sincerely admitted her actions.
