On the afternoon of 19/8, investigators from Prison No. 6 (C10 Department, Ministry of Public Security), Hanh Lam commune police, local militia, and residents set up multiple checkpoints. They searched various roads, forested areas, residential zones in the former Thanh Chuong district, and neighboring areas to locate Hoa.

Since yesterday, authorities have spread out across roads, inspecting vehicles and suspicious locations, but have yet to find Hoa.

A Hanh Lam resident said many families have stayed indoors since last night, fearing the escaped prisoner might pose a danger.

Hoa, 36, from the former Dien Chau district, is serving a 12-year sentence for intentional injury and property damage. He began his term on 1/12/2021 at sub-prison No. 1, Prison No. 6.

Hoa escaped on 18/8. The wanted notice issued the same day describes him as 1.6m tall with a concave nose bridge and a one cm scar from his right eyebrow.
