On 10/7, the Criminal Police Department of Quang Tri Provincial Police announced the temporary detention of 11 individuals for investigation into charges of organizing gambling and gambling.

The detained individuals include Tran Dinh Loc, 40; Tran Hiep, 33; Vo Van Phi, 36; Tran Ngoc Duoc, 31; Le Truong Minh, 44; and Nguyen Thanh Quang, 54, all residents of TP Hue. The five individuals from Quang Tri are Bui Quang Linh, 31; Nguyen Van Binh, 39; Tran Tan Cuong, 25; Tran Tuan Anh, 31; and Nguyen Van Hai, 47.

Previously, through intelligence gathering and cyber surveillance, police discovered a football betting ring operating in TP Hue and Quang Tri, involving numerous participants.

On 8/7, the Criminal Police Department deployed multiple task forces to simultaneously arrest the 11 individuals involved.

Investigation results revealed that the betting ring transacted approximately 400 billion VND from the start of the 2026 World Cup until the conclusion of the round of 16.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
