Man admits to beating girlfriend to death

Le Huu Nghi, 39, has surrendered to authorities, admitting he beat his girlfriend. He then attempted to treat her injuries with boiled eggs and hot towels, but she later died.

Police in Dak Lak province detained Le Huu Nghi, 39, on 23/2, investigating him for intentionally causing injury that led to his girlfriend's death. Nghi resides in Hoa My commune.

Investigators revealed that two days earlier, on the fifth day of Tet, Nghi visited his 33-year-old girlfriend at her rental home in Hoa Thinh commune. After about 45 minutes of cooking together, an argument escalated into a physical altercation. Nghi reportedly grabbed his girlfriend's hair, pulled it back, and then used his hands and feet to assault her.

The woman fell onto the bed. Nghi then left the room to smoke. About 10 minutes later, he returned to find her motionless, her face visibly swollen. He proceeded to boil eggs and use a hot towel to apply to the swelling on her face.

Realizing she was unresponsive, Nghi called neighbors for help, and they transported the victim to Tay Hoa Medical Center. Doctors there pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Early the following morning, Nghi surrendered to the Hoa My Commune Police.
