On 16/8, Ho Chi Minh City police arrested a 62-year-old man suspected of murdering an 80-year-old woman in Tan Uyen ward, formerly Binh Duong province.
The suspect confessed to the crime, claiming he was driven by debt. Being a neighbor, he even attended the victim's funeral after the murder.

The victim was found dead in a chair in her living room on the morning of 15/8. Initially, the family believed she died of natural causes due to her age. However, security footage revealed a man entering the house and murdering her. The perpetrator then cut the power and wifi cables before searching for valuables.
Authorities are investigating the incident and determining what was stolen.
