Police in Dak Lak province arrested Binh, a resident of Phu Yen ward, on 4/9. He is being held on charges of theft. Binh has prior convictions for theft, gambling, and illegal drug use.

Binh noticed a slightly open door at the Cuong Can aquarium on Tran Hung Dao street in Tuy Hoa ward. He slipped inside and stole an arowana fish valued at 60 million VND, placing it in a nylon bag and taking it home.

The fish later died, likely from lack of oxygen and shock. Fearing discovery, Binh disposed of the fish's body in the Da Rang river.
