Investigators revealed Di targeted individuals looking to purchase tickets for in-demand concerts. He fabricated reservation confirmations to gain their trust and then scammed them out of their money.
In mid-May, Di contacted a woman on Facebook searching for tickets to "The Park K-Star in Viet Nam" concert scheduled in Hanoi. Using the Zalo and Facebook alias "The Di," he claimed to be a concert organizer and offered two VIP tickets for 16.3 million VND, including his fee.
To build credibility, Di sent a photo of his citizen identity card along with fabricated booking codes and received a deposit from the victim. Over the next few days, he used the email address "C.Ticket" to send her confirmation emails.
Di then requested the woman pay the remaining balance. She made three transfers totaling 16.3 million VND to the designated account. Afterward, she was unable to contact Di.
Police have identified multiple victims of Di’s scheme and urge others to contact investigator Le Dinh Hai at the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department at 96 Vo Van Kiet Street, Ben Thanh Ward, phone number 0933.393.050.
