Around 12 p.m. on 11/9, in Dong Trieu ward, 26-year-old Phung Van Giang, residing in Mao Khe ward, attacked his mother-in-law with a knife, causing serious injuries.

According to the investigation, Giang and his wife frequently argued. His wife often left home, while Giang, driven by jealousy, had threatened suicide to salvage the relationship. On 10/9, after another argument, his wife left without contacting him, further enraging him.

The following afternoon, fueled by anger, Giang went to his mother-in-law's house with a knife, intending to demand his wife's whereabouts. Unable to locate her, he turned his rage on his mother-in-law.

After nearly 12 hours on the run, Giang was apprehended at 10:30 p.m. the same day.
