Man chases ambulance for 10 km, demanding to beat two people he had just slashed

Huynh Van Chi, 46, slashed two people while intoxicated, then pursued and blocked an ambulance, damaging it, and continued to try and attack the victims.

On 5/5, Quang Ngai Provincial Police announced that Chi is currently under investigation for disturbing public order and intentionally damaging property.

Authorities are also clarifying other potential criminal offenses by the suspect.

The incident occurred on the evening of 15/2. Chi, intoxicated from alcohol, had a dispute with two men from his village. He then used a knife to slash and injure them. Villagers intervened and called an ambulance to transport the victims to Dang Thuy Tram Regional General Hospital, located in Duc Pho ward, south of Lan Phong commune.

However, as the ambulance began its journey, Chi rode his motorbike ahead, blocked the vehicle, and began to damage it. Witness footage showed him attempting to force his way into the ambulance to continue assaulting the two victims.

The ambulance driver tried to maneuver around Chi, aiming to get the victims to the hospital as quickly as possible. Despite this, Chi continued his relentless pursuit, swerving and weaving dangerously in front of the ambulance for a distance exceeding 10 km.

Upon reaching an intersection in Duc Pho ward, Chi once again blocked the ambulance and shattered a window. The driver and frustrated passersby then restrained him and alerted the police.
