Nam worked as a security guard for a company in Rach Gia city. On 28/8, he returned to his grandmother's home in Chau Thanh commune to pay his respects, where a conflict arose with his cousins.

He was angry because his 18-year-old cousin had promised to go to Rach Gia with him but didn't. Nam held a knife to her neck, demanding an explanation, and acted indecently towards her. The woman screamed for help, and her 23-year-old brother, Hung, intervened.

Nam confessed that he harbored resentment. That night, while everyone was asleep, he strangled Hung with a rope. Nam covered the victim with a blanket and then went to sleep in his hammock. The next morning, he went to his rented room in Rach Gia to change clothes, intending to go to work, but changed his mind and confessed his crime to the police.

The police are continuing to verify the suspect's statements.
