On the afternoon of 17/12, Hieu (originally from Dong Thap province, temporarily residing in An Tinh ward) arrived at a gold shop in An Binh neighborhood, wearing a mask.

He entered the shop, feigning interest in buying gold, and a staff member showed him an 18K necklace weighing over three chi.

Taking advantage of the fact that only one employee was present, Hieu suddenly snatched the necklace and ran out onto the street. The male gold shop employee shouted for help, climbed over the counter, and gave chase.

At that moment, a group of citizens sitting by the roadside heard the shouts and helped pursue and apprehend Hieu, handing him over to the police.

He is being investigated for theft by snatching property.
