On 19/8, the Internal Political Security Department of Da Nang City Police announced that they had issued an administrative fine of 7.5 million VND to a 34-year-old man residing in An Hai Ward for "providing and sharing false information, causing public confusion."
The man had used his personal Facebook account to post an article with the Vietnam Social Security logo containing false information about family health insurance payment rates from 1/7/2025.

Authorities confirmed that the information was entirely fabricated. When summoned, the man admitted to copying the information from social media without verifying its accuracy before sharing it on his personal page.
After receiving an explanation, the man acknowledged the consequences of sharing false information. He voluntarily removed the post, issued an apology and correction, and pledged not to repeat the offense.
According to Da Nang City Police, this action violates Point d, Clause 1, Article 101 of Decree 15/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions in the fields of post, telecommunications, information technology, and electronic transactions.
The police advised people to be cautious when receiving and sharing information on social media, recommending they only use official sources to avoid spreading fake or false news. Those who intentionally violate these regulations will be strictly dealt with.
