Nguyen Quoc Bao, 21, was detained by Quang Ngai Provincial Police on the afternoon of 27/2 for allegedly murdering one person and injuring another. The incident occurred early on 27/2 at a bar on Pham Van Dong street, Cam Thanh ward, where Bao attacked two men with a knife following an escalated argument.

According to initial investigations, Bao, who resides in Cong Hoa 1 residential group, Truong Quang Trong ward, had been drinking with his 31-year-old brother and his brother's girlfriend at the bar. At a separate table were Tran Thai Duong, 21, Vo Hoang Lam, 25, and three other men. A dispute arose between the two groups, leading to an argument. After a brief reconciliation, Bao's group left the establishment.

However, the conflict escalated when Duong reportedly called Bao, challenging him to a fight. Enraged by the provocation, Bao returned to his rented room on Le Loi street, retrieved a knife measuring 49,5 cm, and arranged for transportation back to the bar.

Upon his return, Bao immediately confronted Duong and Lam, attacking them with the knife. One of the victims succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the emergency room, while the other sustained severe wounds. Bao fled the scene but surrendered to the police at 7h on the same day.

The Criminal Police Department of Quang Ngai Provincial Police is currently taking statements from all individuals involved to further clarify the details of the case.
