The Da Nang City Police Investigation Agency arrested and charged Nguyen Duc Thien, 40, from An Hai Ward, with intentional injury under Article 134, Clause 2 of the penal code on 12/9.

On the evening of 19/3, Thien was drinking with Quynh, 23, and a group of friends at a restaurant on Ho Nghinh Street, An Hai Ward. At a nearby table, Nang, 44, also from An Hai Ward, was having beers with Oanh, 33, from Ngu Hanh Son District, and some acquaintances.

Nang knew Quynh and called her, learning she was at the adjacent restaurant. Nang and Oanh then took their beers over to greet Quynh and her group. An argument broke out between Oanh and Thien. Nang intervened, but Thien felt insulted and became angry.

After Nang and Oanh returned to their table, Thien called two men, Bi and Loi (identities unknown), to help him confront Nang. The group assaulted Nang, causing injuries that required hospitalization. He sustained injuries assessed at 16%.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging others involved in the assault to turn themselves in.
