On 23/4, police in An Giang province arrested Truong Quoc Dat, 19, on charges of murder.

According to the investigation, Dat knew Phuong, 21, when they both worked in the Phu Quoc special economic zone. Recently, Phuong ended their relationship, leading Dat to suspect she had a new boyfriend.

On the evening of 16/4, Dat rode a motorbike, armed with a knife, intending to confront Phuong. Upon reaching the Bai Vong area, he saw Phuong riding on the back of Hung’s motorbike. Dat, 21, immediately gave chase.

During the pursuit, Dat used the knife to slash Hung's face. The motorbike lost control, causing both Hung and Phuong to fall to the road. As Hung fled, Dat stabbed Phuong multiple times, killing her at the scene.

Dat then continued to pursue Hung, stabbing him until he collapsed. After committing the murders, the suspect fled the scene but was apprehended by police on his way back to his rented room.
